Cycle paths, cycle lanes and greenways in every town and village, plus an additional network of 21 waymarked cycling and mountain-biking routes.
Touring cyclists will look out for the “Accueil Vélo” seal of approval awarded to bike-friendly establishments – hotels, campsites, holiday camps, activity providers and our Tourist Offices all offer bike-friendly hospitality, services and facilities as well as advice and practical information to make life easy during your trip.
The Canal du Midi winds for 25 km through the heart of our region. Portiragnes, Vias and Agde are the last ports of call before you reach Pointe des Onglous where the Canal flows into the Thau lagoon. From the round lock at Agde you can reach the Mediterranean Sea via the Canalet (a branch of the Canal du Midi) and the Hérault river.
Although you can sail freely on the Canal, you must accommodate lock opening times. The locks operate daily from the end of March to early November but are closed on 1st May and 1st November. Please enquire at Voies Navigables de France – +33 (0)4 68 79 74 55.
The boat rental outlets propose stopovers when space is available.
