1653, the slingshot ends. The Prince of Conti is released by order of King Louis XIV, his cousin. To keep him out of the kingdom of France, he was given the Château de la Grange des Prés. Since the death of Montmorency and the plague episode among the biggest that the South of France has known, Pézenas has fallen into monotony. On this day in September, the people of Pézenas are preparing to celebrate the end of the grape harvest. Musicians, acrobats and comedians are brought in. People dance, sing, and laugh at the parade of jugglers and balladeers or by following the “Poulain”, the totemic animal of the city. Popular jubilation takes over the city!
